On Sunday we visited the Vancouver Art Gallery's
Modern in the Making: Post-War Craft and Design in British Columbia. Lotsa thoughtful pots, furniture, clothes and jewelry on display, yet less thought, time and resources given to display infrastructure. Yes, the recessed pot wall is kinda cute (above, to the left of Mano Herendy's caftan), but for those wishing to see all sides of the wall's two-dimensionalized pots, a disappointment, and indeed a metaphor for a gallery so strapped for cash it can only resort to half measures.
