Calgary's Esker impresses -- on many levels. During my visit Director Naomi Potter took me to the southwest window and pointed out the rivers and the railway tracks between them. A history lesson -- concerning multiple histories.
Last month Neil Campbell showed me a work he was hoping to realize as part of his and Jeremy Shaw's Esker exhibitions, which opened last night. Neil's Field (2019) was a computer mock-up until yesterday when it arrived as a vinyl acrylic wall painting. Now it is back on the computer, as documentation.
