One of my favourite public text displays was the Vision Critical sign at the north end of the Cambie Street Bridge. Then one day, like a lot of things in Vancouver, it disappeared.
Despite its function as a
market research engine, Vision Critical gave us a text work in the form of business signage, one that, inadvertently or otherwise, set the tone for a day's looking and thinking. I am sorry to see it gone.
